Norah Jones has always been equally capable at delivering elegant vocal jazz and sultry, soulful pop. With its electric piano flourish and sedate horn arrangement, “Thinking About You” falls into the later category, and Jones takes more cues from the likes of Dusty Springfield than jazz femmes like Diana Krall. It’s fitting that Wax Poetic godhead Ilhan Ersahin wrote the tune, as it ably merges the midnight ethos of Ersahin’s sensibility with Jones’ talent as vocal stylist.
